Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE) 10AM JUST SPACE(S) Ava Bromberg and Nicholas Brown, the organizers of just space(s), will present this project and lead a discussion. Just space(s) transforms LACE into a learning environment, pairing the work of artists, activists and scholars who engage similar issues through installations, a library/info-shop, and a series of symposia. Union Station / AMTRAK Pacific Surfliner 12:30 PM A CONVERSATION ON THE MOVE Traveling by train from Los Angeles to the US / México border, and shifting from TRÁNSITOry PÚBLICO to Political Equator ll, this colloquium unfolds as it moves through the landscape. The diverse character of a Southern California megalopolis is revealed as the train cuts a section through the artificial and natural ecologies of the territory linking Alta and Baja California. with Teddy Cruz Architect + Associate Professor, Visual Arts Department, UCSD Check-in at 12:30 PM in Main Lobby at Union Station to guarantee seating on the train; the Pacific Surfliner train departs at 2:00 PM sharp. A limited number of seats are available in the event car. When the event car is full, we will announce it on the web site; additional reservations can be made for other Pacific Surfliner cars on the same train. Reservations for the event car will be accepted on a first come, first served basis upon the receipt of payment for by check payable to the Regents of the University of California. Tickets are $21 per person on the event card. All reservations will be confirmed by email.
