SIN TÍTULO (PARA PEQUEÑO ENSEMBLE)

ULTRA-RED

Organize the silence.

AIDS where is your rage . . . I am confused . . . I heard something very disturbing on the news . . . I'm frustrated grieved disappointed overwhelmed saddened by the silence that still exists in our communities . . . And still to this day I'm baffled by that . . . When I listened to the silence I heard behind it an anger . . . Tired of being stigmatized . . . AIDS where is your rage . . .

This is a rehearsal. This is a performance without audience. Only actors. This is an experiment in occupying public space for a brief moment. This is a chance to see each other, to hear our collective voice, to dance together, to feel what it is like to walk together.

This is a chance to come together around similar concerns. HIV prevention in prison. Human rights of prisoners. Sentencing reform. This is a space to organize our affinity.

This is a space that makes of us new demands. The chants we will use are quotes from testimonies by AIDS activists across North America—simple statements of how people feel about the AIDS crisis today. How might we imagine these declarations as the basis of new ways of organizing ourselves to end the AIDS crisis? How might we organize the silence?

Assemble at Park's east end at 4:00 PM
Begin precisely at 4:30 PM

Wear comfortable walking shoes & jacket.
This public space occupation has been
permitted by the LA Parks Department.
